The Beak and Barrel Review
When Disney announced Magic Kingdom’s very first lounge, themed after Pirates of the Caribbean. I knew I had to try it. A pirate hideout right inside Magic Kingdom park? Count me in. Reservations are tough to snag, but with a little help from MouseDining.com, I finally landed one.

Atmosphere & Seating
Disney nailed the theming here. From the moment you step inside, you feel like you’ve wandered into a swashbuckling tavern. We were seated in one of the side rooms Cursed Map Room, at a large communal table with standing space.

It’s worth noting: seating is very limited. Expect to share tables or stand at counters. If you prefer a more immersive experience, request seating in the main space where the action happens.

Food & Drinks
We started with two appetizers: the chips and dips platter and the corn cake slider. Both were tasty and perfect for sharing, but the platter stole the show. It came with a mix of blue corn chips, plantains, and other crunchy bites, paired with three dips. My favorite was the Garlic Chimichurri, while the others: Mango Chutney, Spiced Guava, and Zesty Culantro Cream Dips were also solid.

For drinks, I ordered Salty Seas mARRRgarita, and my friend tried a non-alcoholic specialty drink called the Treasure Trove, a drink with Ube, Lemon, and Coconut served with a Vanilla Cake “Plank”, Chocolate “Cannonball”, and Golden Caramel Popcorn topped with a chocolate wafer and served with a cake pop.

Entertainment
Throughout our visit, Rummy the parrot appears above the bar and gets the whole bar singing along with silly pirate banter, and there may even be some other excitement in store. Because we were in the side room, it was sometimes hard to catch everything happening in the main lounge, which is another reason I’d like to try a different seat next time.
Our server, Blake, deserves a shoutout. He stayed in character without being over the top, delivering great service and plenty of laughs.

Was It Worth It?
Yes, absolutely. I can’t wait to go back and bring my family. Fans of Pirates of the Caribbean will love the atmosphere, but even if you’re not a drinker, the non-alcoholic menu options make it enjoyable for everyone.

Tips for Visiting the Beak and Barrel Lounge
- Reservations: Use a service like MouseDining to snag cancellations.
- Seating is limited: If you have mobility needs, note it on your reservation so Cast Members can accommodate you.
- Lighting: It’s dark inside, something to keep in mind if you don’t love dim spaces.
- Allergies: Menus don’t always list allergens for drinks. Be sure to tell your server; Disney Cast Members are great at prioritizing guests’ food sensitivities and allergies and are super helpful.
- Kid-friendly options: Several non-alcoholic drinks and snack-style foods are available, though picky eaters may be limited.

Final Thoughts
The Beak and Barrel is a unique addition to Magic Kingdom and a must-try for anyone who loves Disney theming. Whether you’re here for the pirate vibes, the creative drinks, or just to experience something brand-new in the park, it’s worth a visit.
