I found this resort to be very Disney themed and fun. This is definitely the best resort if you have a little sports fan in your group. While it is in the Value category I was impressed with the property, decor, and finishes in the room as well. This resorts interior is very comparable to Pop Century but has a lower price.

ABOUT OUR RECENT STAY AT DISNEY’S All-Star Sports RESORT

I stayed at the All-Star Sports Resort at Disney World in January of 2024. My room was in the Mighty Ducks area on the 3rd floor. The elevators were easy to find and it was a great location.

OVERVIEW

Disney’s All-Star Sports is categorized as a value resort. The pricing is really good and the rooms would work well for any family of 4. All-Star Sports is the newest of the All-Star Resorts, opening in 1999.

THEME & ATMOSPHERE:

All-Star Sports Resort is themed after the Disney Sports including The Mighty Ducks, 101 Dalmations, Pixar’s Toy Story, Fantasia, and Love Bug. The theming at the All-Star Resort is fantastic and larger than life! You will never run out of great photo opps at All-Star Sports. The lobby has a

This is a very popular resort for families due to the lower price point and theming. It is also one of the more appealing All-Star Resorts since it is the newest and has strong Disney Theming.

LOCATION OF All-Star Sports RESORT

All-Star Resorts are located in the Animal Kingdom Area. The Address for All-Star Sports is 1701 W Buena Vista Dr, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830.

Sections at All-Star Sports

Surfs Up – Surfing themed

This Surfing themed area includes buildings 1 and 6. These are closest to the bus stop, Stadium Hall which includes food, shopping, and more. It is also closest to the main pool. Preferred room have a higher price point because of their location.

Hoops Hotel – Basketball Themed

The Hoops Hotel rooms are all standard room. They include building 2 and 3. Building 2 is closer to the main hall, transportation, and Surfboard Bay pool.

Touchdown – Football Themed

This football-themed area is one of my favorites! The giant football “field” is a great spot for kids to run around. I love seeing families throwing around a football here. This area includes buildings 7 and 10. The way these buildings are set up, your location can vary depending on where your room is located since one end of the buildings is closer to the main hall, transportation, and pools.

Homerun Hotel – Baseball Themed

The Homerun Hotel buildings are number 8 and 9 and include standard rooms. While these buildings are farther away from the main building, they are super close to the Grand Slam Pool, it was right outside my room when I stayed there recently.

Center Court: Tennis Themed

Buildings 4 and 5 include standard rooms. I think the location of building 5 is a bit better since building 4 is farther away from the main area.

TRANSPORTATION

The transportation at All-Star Sports includes Disney Bussing to all of the parks. One thing to know about the transportation at the All Stars Resorts is that the bussing is shared between the 3 resorts. All-Star Sports has the best transportation of the 3 All-Star Resorts because it is the first stop for pick-up and drop off, so you’ll spend less time on the bus.

Because this is a value resort, you will only find bussing (or paying for Lyft and Uber) as options. I did not have any trouble getting to the parks. I was impressed with the number of busses available in the mornings.

The bus stop is in the front of the building with some seating, and buses generally come every 15-20 minutes.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET TO the PARKs FROM All-Star Sports RESORT?

  • EPCOT can be reached using the Disney Bus Transportation. It is a 10-15 minute ride.
  • Magic Kingdom is about a 20-minute trip from All-Star Sports taking the bus.
  • Hollywood Studios is a 10-15-minute trip on by bus
  • Animal Kingdom is the closest park only a 5-10 minute bus ride from All-Star Sports.
  • Disney Springs is about 20 minutes away.

ROOMS AT All-Star Sports RESORT

The rooms at the All-Star Sports Resort are intended to fit up to four people with most rooms having one queen bed and one Queen-sized pulldown table bed (a Murphy bed) or a single King bed. Disney just finished a big update to all of the rooms at All Star Sports, so these rooms were in great condition.

ROOM OPTIONS AVAILABLE AT All-Star Sports

  • Standard Room: 1 queen bed and 1 queen-sized pulldown table bed or 1 King Bed. Views of the Courtyard, Pool, or Parking Areas.
  • Preferred Room: 1 queen bed and 1 queen-sized pulldown table bed or 1 King Bed. Views of the Courtyard, Pool, or Parking Areas. Rooms are located closer to the Main building with dining, shopping, and transportation.

ROOM FEATURES AND DECOR

The rooms at All-Star Sports were updated – in 2018 and now have a very clean modern look. The flooring is laminate which is nice since carpeting is much harder to keep clean. I also love that you can fit your bags under the queen bed.

The room is furnished has a Murphy bed table and 2 chairs, a good size dresser with 3 drawers and a cabinet that stores the safe and gives you a good amount of storage. The bed is very comfortable and the Murphy bed has the same mattress so it is equally comfortable. Most rooms at All-Star Sports will also have the new “Hey Disney” Alexa gadget which is a fun new addition.

STORAGE IN THE All-star Sports ROOMS

You will find plenty of plugs and USB outlets throughout the rooms. There are 2 USB and 2 standard plugs between the beds at the nightstand. You will also find 4 more USB and 4 more plugs at the dresser. This is so helpful if you’re charging phones, MagicBands, rechargeable power banks, fans, or other electronics.

There is a beverage cooler and some additional shelving which we used to store our resort food. You will also have storage in the single nightstand between the beds.

Beside the sinks in the bathroom area, there is a sliding door that separates the bathroom area from the room. There is also a door to the toilet and shower.

OTHER IN-ROOM AMENITIES

Each room also comes with a Cuisinart coffee maker that will make a single cup of coffee using Joffrey’s Coffee pods that are provided. You’ll also receive Twinnings tea bags and a few coffee creamers and sugars.

Don’t hesitate to request a refill or extra coffees, teas, sugars, crears, cups, etc. Housekeeping is happy to refill your items during your stay. There’s also an ice bucket you can use and fill at the ice machines throughout the resort.

On the wall you’ll have a large television, giving you access to your favorite channels and Disney movies to unwind after a day exploring the parks.

THE BATHROOM LAYOUT AT all-star Sports resort:

In the bathroom area, you will have a sliding door to divide the toilet and tub/shower from the sink and counter area.

The door to the toilet and shower was also nice. This way someone can be using the toilet or taking a shower while others are getting ready at the sinks. There is a sliding door that can be pulled closed to divide the room from the bathroom areas.

As usual, Disney provides bath products in the shower, including Body Wash, shampoo, and Conditioner.  You will also receive a bar of soap which can usually be found at the sink.

Storage in the bathrooms at All-Star Sports was actually very generous with a good amount of counter space. Shelves under the sink, 3 shelves beside the sink, and 3 shelves on the way. Very impressive storage for a value resort. You will find the hair dryer on these shelves.

The closet area is beside the vanity. It is an open-concept closet with a closet rod and about 10 hangers included. The closet space in this resort was not very generous, something to keep in mind if you are staying with multiple people. You can always request more hangers if you need them. You will also find the iron and ironing board in this area. When we travel with our kids, we always bring a super convenient foldable closet organizer and a shoe organizer. This gives us extra storage for their clothes or shoes when there aren’t enough drawers for everyone.

What are the dining options at All-Star Sports?

THE POOLS AT All-Star Sports

All-Star Sports is a large resort so you will find two pools to choose from. Surfboard Bay Pool and Grand Slam Pool.

Beginning January 2026 until the end of April 2026, some of the pools will be closed for maintenance including Surfboard Bay Pool and the kiddie pool. During this time, the Grand Slam Leisure Pool at will be available at All-Star Sports. While the pools are closed guests from All-Star Sports can use the pools at the other Disney All-Star Resorts.

THE COST TO STAY AT All-Star Sports RESORT

Rooms costs vary from $107 and up. You can find extra savings if you are an Annual Passholder or during specials throughout the year. I’ve stayed here for as little as $87/night with my Annual Passholder discount!

IS All-Star Sports Resort a good fit FOR FAMILIES?

I think All-Star Sports is one of the best resorts for families who prefer a budget-friendly resort. This resort has everything you need at a great price. If you have any sports fans in your family they will love the theming. As always Disney transportation is included, the dining options are very family-friendly, and your kids will love the sporty Disney theming. I’d recommend staying at one of the All-Star Resorts before considering staying at an “Off property” resort. Find out why here.

CAN YOU WALK BETWEEN All-Star Sports AND the other All-Star Resorts

The three All-Star Resorts (Music, Music, and Sports) are all close to each other. You can easily walk from one resort to another. There are walkways to each resort. It can be about a 1-mile walk between each.
