To help you plan your perfect Animal Kingdom day, I’ve put together a complete list of non-ride attractions at Animal Kingdom along with where to find each one and what to know before you go. This list includes all of the shows and entertainment at Animal Kingdom. Grab your free printable at the end of this post, so you can check them off as you go!

Animal Kingdom is in an exciting period of change. As of 2026, DinoLand U.S.A. permanently closed and is being reimagined as Tropical Americas (Pueblo Esperanza). This new area is expected to open in 2027. Be sure to check the My Disney Experience app on the day of your visit for current showtimes, especially for live shows, which run multiple times daily.

Africa
Festival of the Lion King
Duration: ~30 minutes | Mobility: No transfer needed | Large indoor theater, air-conditioned | Multiple shows daily; check app for times
Festival of the Lion King is performed in Harambe Theatre in the Africa section of Animal Kingdom, and it is, without exaggeration, one of the best live shows at Walt Disney World. This is full-scale theater: live singers, acrobats, aerialists, fire dancers, and performers on stilts, all celebrating the music and story of The Lion King. The energy in the room is extraordinary, and there are moments in this show that catch you completely off guard. Even if you’ve seen it before, it’s different every time because the energy from the performers and audience is never the same twice. Plan to arrive at least 20 minutes before showtime to secure a seat. It fills up.
Tam Tam Drummers of Harambe and the Harambe Street Band – Burudika
Duration: ~15-20 minutes | Mobility: No transfer needed | Outdoor street performance in Harambe Village | Check app for scheduled times
As you walk through the Africa section of Animal Kingdom near Harambe Village, keep an ear out for the Tam Tam Drummers of Harambe and the Burudika Street Band. The Burudika Street band is a Kenyan Afro-Pop band that performs in the Africa area in the afternoons. Both of these groups can be found around the Dawa Bar and Tusker House Restaurant. It draws a crowd quickly when it begins. The performers are exceptional, and the energy they bring to the show is genuinely contagious.
Check the My Disney Experience app for scheduled performance times, as they aren’t continuous throughout the day.
Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail
Duration: Self-paced | Mobility: Wheelchair accessible | Paved walking trail through African wildlife habitats
After Kilimanjaro Safaris, look for the entrance to Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, which is a self-guided walking trail through habitats that are home to western lowland gorillas, hippos, meerkats, exotic birds, and other African wildlife. The trail is paved and wheelchair accessible, and you can spend as long or as short a time as you like. The gorilla habitat in particular is stunning, with viewing windows that put you remarkably close to these animals. This is one of those Animal Kingdom gems that a lot of guests walk right past.
Wildlife Express Train
Duration: 7 minutes one way | Mobility: Wheelchair accessible | Departs from Harambe Station in Africa | Closes before rest of park; check app for hours
To reach Rafiki’s Planet Watch, you’ll board the Wildlife Express Train from Harambe Station in Africa. The train ride takes about 7 minutes each way and runs through backstage areas of the park where you might catch a glimpse of some of the animals from Kilimanjaro Safaris. The train reopened in May 2026 with new narration from conservationist Robert Irwin. Note that Rafiki’s Planet Watch closes before the rest of the park, so plan your visit accordingly and check the operating hours in the My Disney Experience app.
Bluey’s Wild World
Duration: Varies | Mobility: Wheelchair accessible | Located at Conservation Station, accessible via Wildlife Express Train | Closes before rest of park
Bluey’s Wild World opened at Conservation Station in May 2026 and brings the beloved Australian children’s show to life in an interactive experience built around animals. Guests can meet Bluey and Bingo, participate in themed games inspired by the show, and visit Jumping Junction, a new kangaroo and wallaby viewing area. This is a wonderful experience for families with young children, and it brings a new level of energy to the Rafiki’s Planet Watch area
Jumping Junction
Duration: Varies | Mobility: Wheelchair accessible | Located at Conservation Station, accessible via Wildlife Express Train | Closes before rest of park
This is a guided walk-through habitat where kangaroos and wallabies are free-roaming. You will be guided by a Disney cast member who will teach you all about these cute marsupials. You’ll find this experience at the Conservation Station (formerly the Affection Section petting zoo); it operates from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM most days. Check the My Disney Experience App for exact times.
Animal Care at Conservation Station
Duration: Varies | Mobility: Wheelchair accessible | Located at Conservation Station, accessible via Wildlife Express Train | Closes before rest of park
While you are visiting the Conservation Station, you can learn all about animal care and nutrition and have the opportunity to see a procedure from the viewing window at the Veterinary Treatment Room. You can see several reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates as well. Be sure to stop by after your Bluey show!
Asia
Feathered Friends in Flight!
Duration: ~25 minutes | Mobility: No transfer needed | Outdoor stage; arrive early for shaded seating | Multiple shows daily; check app for times
Feathered Friends in Flight! is a live bird show performed multiple times daily at the Caravan Stage in Asia. The show features macaws, hawks, owls, and other birds in free-flight demonstrations that are genuinely breathtaking to watch. The trainers and educators who present the show make it fun and informative for guests of all ages. The stage is outdoors, so arrive a few minutes early to find shaded seating, especially on hot days.
Maharajah Jungle Trek
Duration: Self-paced | Mobility: Wheelchair accessible | Paved walking trail through Asian-themed wildlife habitats
The Maharajah Jungle Trek is a self-guided walking trail through a beautifully themed Asian palace complex that houses tigers, Komodo dragons, giant fruit bats, and exotic birds. The theming and backstory woven into the trail are exceptional, and the animal habitats are designed to give you surprisingly close views of the animals. The paved trail is wheelchair accessible and can be completed at your own pace. This is an easy one to skip if you’re rushing, but it’s genuinely one of the most immersive things you can do at Animal Kingdom.
Discovery Island
Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!
Duration: ~25 minutes | Mobility: No transfer needed | Large indoor theater, air-conditioned | Multiple shows daily; check app for times
Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! is performed in the Theater in the Wild on Discovery Island. This colorful live musical retells the story of Nemo and Marlin through a combination of puppetry, live performers, and innovative staging that is genuinely impressive. The show runs about 25 minutes, the theater is large and air-conditioned, and it’s an excellent midday break. Families with younger children will especially love this one. The puppetry is creative and engaging, and the familiar songs are always a hit.
Zootopia: Better Zoogether!
Duration: 10 minutes | Mobility: Must transfer | Indoor 3D show, air-conditioned
Zootopia: Better Zoogether! opened in 2025 in the space that was previously home to It’s Tough to Be a Bug on Discovery Island. I’ve added this to both our list of rides in Animal Kingdom and our list of Shows and Entertainment. This indoor 3D show brings the characters and world of Zootopia to life with special effects and immersive theater elements. It’s a wonderful addition for fans of the film, and a great option for families looking for an air-conditioned midday break.
Viva Gaia Street Band!
Duration: ~15-20 minutes | Mobility: No transfer needed | Outdoor street performance | Check app for scheduled times
Stop by to enjoy the Caribbean sounds of the Viva Gaia Street Band in Discovery Island. Enjoy the show or join in the high-energy dancing! You can’t miss the music across from Flame Tree BBQ.
Discovery Island Trails
Duration: Self-paced | Mobility: Wheelchair accessible | Paved paths around Tree of Life with small animal viewing
Discovery Island Trails wind around the base of the Tree of Life, Animal Kingdom’s iconic centerpiece. The trails are paved and accessible, and they pass through habitats with smaller animals including otters, kangaroos, flamingos, tortoises, and more. It’s a quiet, shaded walking area that most guests bypass in their rush to the rides, which means it tends to be uncrowded. Take a few minutes to actually look at the Tree of Life up close while you’re there, too. The detail in the 325 animal carvings in the trunk is extraordinary.
Winged Encounters – The Kingdom Takes Flight
Duration: ~10 minutes | Mobility: No transfer needed | Outdoor, near Tree of Life | Check app for scheduled times
Near the Tree of Life on Discovery Island, Winged Encounters features a small group of free-flying macaws soaring through the sky above the park in a short outdoor demonstration. The macaws are stunning in flight, and the show is a quick, unscheduled-feeling experience that feels more like a magical moment you stumbled upon than a planned attraction. Check the My Disney Experience app for scheduled performance times.
Tree of Life Awakenings
Duration: ~5 minutes per cycle | Mobility: No transfer needed | Outdoor; visible from Discovery Island | Runs continuously after dark
After dark, the Tree of Life comes alive with projection shows called Tree of Life Awakenings. Disney projects stunning imagery of animals and nature onto the carved surface of the tree in short loops that run continuously throughout the evening. There is no single showtime to plan for; the projections simply begin when it gets dark enough and continue until the park closes. It’s a beautiful and surprisingly moving thing to come across as you wander the park in the evening. Animal Kingdom closes earlier than the other parks. You’ll want to check the park hours, My Disney Experience app, and the sunset times to see if you will have the chance to see the Tree of Life Awakening.

Wilderness Explorers
Duration: Full day activity | Mobility: Wheelchair accessible | Activity stations throughout all lands | Pick up field guide at park entrance
Wilderness Explorers is a park-wide badge-earning activity program inspired by the movie Up. Kids (and adults!) can pick up a field guide at the entrance and complete educational animal-themed activities at stations scattered throughout all of Animal Kingdom’s lands. Each completed activity earns a badge. It’s a great way to keep kids engaged in between attractions and gives everyone a reason to actually explore the corners of the park they might otherwise skip.
