Disney wants you to not only have a great vacation in the parks but also wants to be sure that you and your family stay safe. That’s why several Disney Park rides have a height minimum that you have to meet in order to ride.
Check Ride height Requirements for Disney before you go
If you are planning your Disney vacation the information can be overwhelming. It’s easy to focus on things like hotel, food, and transportation but don’t forget about planning ahead for the parks. One important thing to consider when planning your park days is what rides your child(run) wants to ride. Then check to see if they meet the height requirement.
Below I’ve included a list of all of the different ride height requirements for rides in Disney World.
Why Does Disney Have Height Requirements for Rides?
The simple answer to this is safety. In order to provide a safe and fun environment, Disney wants to ensure that every guest is safe on the rides. Rides are designed to protect you from any injury, so in order for those safety measures to work you need to fit in the ride properly.
For example, there might be a lap bar or straps that will not fit a small child. Some rides are too rough for smaller children too.

Can I sneak my child onto a Disney ride if they are not tall enough?
No, please don’t try to sneak your child past the Cast Members. They strictly enforce the height requirements to keep everyone safe.
Some rides have fast drops or turns and you want to make sure your child fits in the restraints properly so they are safe.
What if my child is not able to ride?
If your child does not meet the height requirements you may want to check My Disney Experience to see what other rides are available for your child. It’s always easier to know before your trip what ride your child is eligible to ride to avoid any surprise disappointments.
If you have other family members that want to ride, but you also have some that are not tall enough, you may be able to take advantage of Rider Switch. Rider Switch allows one parent to stay behind with the child or infant while the rest of the party rides the attraction. When they get off the ride the waiting parent gets to take their turn without waiting in line again. You can all the details about Rider Switch on Disney’s site HERE.
